The Bach Cantata Choir will perform at the 2013 Abbey Bach Festival at the Mt. Angel Abbey. The Abbey has a rich tradition that started in Oregon in 1882, and the annual Bach festival has been a part of that tradition for 42 years. We will sing two different half hour concerts at 6 PM on July 25 and 26, just following the vespers service and prior to the dinner that precedes the 8 PM concert. It is a great honor for us and will be a wonderful experience for the audience and musicians alike.
We hope that many of you will join us in July. The musical experience will be quite different from our normal concerts because of the Abbey church acoustics and architecture. Tickets may be purchased on the festival web site and you can find additional information about the Abbey and Festival there as well.
We will receive a stipend from the Festival for our performance, but we need to raise additional funds to cover our costs. If you would like to help us in this effort, please visit our Donations page to make a donation securely through PayPal.
