At this time, no live concerts are scheduled for the 2020-21 season. We hope to be able to schedule performances in 2021, as soon as it is safe to do so.
Virtual Season
Sunday, October 25th, 2pm
Join Ralph Nelson and members of the Bach Cantata Choir online for a presentation about Bach, Luther, and
Bach's powerful and fascinating Cantata No. 80 "Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott."
Ralph will start by explaining the history of the cantata, and then the score will be projected on the screen. Audience
members will be muted on Zoom -- but are free to sing along. At the end, we'll join in together on
Luther's great Reformation hymn, "A Mighty Fortress Is Our God."
The Four Sundays of Advent: Lecture Series and Selections from Christmas Oratorio
Spend the Four Sundays of Advent with Bach Cantata Choir Artistic Director Ralph Nelson as he demonstrates one of
Bach's most joyful and uplifting masterpieces - the Christmas Oratorio. BCC soloists and orchestra, in previously recorded
performances and new virtual choir recordings, will present favorite selections from The Christmas Oratorio. Follow the
score and sing along!

Mozart Visits Leipzig

Guest Lecturer Dr. Michael Maul, Artistic Director for the Leipzig Bach Festival
Dr. Maul will relate the story of Mozart's visit to Leipzig in 1789, when Mozart heard the music of J.S. Bach. The lecture will be followed by a video presentation by Ralph Nelson (including the score) of Bach’s Motet #1 “Singet dem Herrn” BWV 225, the work that so impressed Mozart.
