Reformation Sunday: Lecture and Demonstration
What: Bach's Cantata No. 80, "Ein' feste Burg ist unser Gott" ("A Mighty Fortress Is Our God")
Join Artistic Director Ralph Nelson and members of the Bach Cantata Choir online for a presentation about Bach, Luther, and Bach's powerful and fascinating Cantata No. 80, "Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott."
Ralph will start by explaining the history of the cantata, and then the score will be projected on the screen. Audience members will be muted on Zoom -- but are free to sing along. At the end, we'll join in together on Luther's great Reformation hymn, "A Mighty Fortress Is Our God."
